We love practicing self-care! It is the foundation for a happy and stress-free life.
However, in Denmark and large parts of the world, we are currently in the middle of the second lock down of society and we are truly starting to feel bored and restless because our lives are limited by social distancing and staying at home. Throughout quarantine and, more importantly, beyond, you can boost your mental and physical health by practicing self-care.
We have gathered some of the things that we feel create the most joy and reward during these hard times.
MINIMIZE SCREEN TIME
Take a break from the news and social media, disconnect from the noise, put your phone down and create a peaceful headspace for yourself. Now there is plenty of room for getting lost in a good book, talking with friends or family, listening to music or learning a new skill.
GET OUT IN NATURE
Needless to say, with everything closed we are not left with endless possibilities to pass time. Therefore, one of our favourite activities right now is getting out in nature and enjoying long walks with friends or winter bathing in the freezing ocean to experience that grounding time - that is self-care!
HOME SPA-TIME
Take time to relax in a bubble bath, light a scented candle, put on your favourite music and pamper yourself. It could for example involve treating your hair to an argan oil hair mask with our Rejuvenating Argan Oil Serum. Here is what you do;
Step 1: Mix the argan oil with another hair oil (optional)
You can of course use pure argan oil, but if you feel creative try mixing it with coconut oil to increase shine, or with castor oil to stimulate hair growth.
Step 2: Apply argan oil to your hair
Apply a generous amount of argan oil from roots to ends and wrap your hair in a small towel to really let it soak into your hair and scalp. Allow the hair mask to work its magic for 15-30 minutes or keep it overnight for an intensive treatment.
Step 3: Shampoo and condition as usual
Once the time is up, shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would and feel how soft and silky your hair is.
ORGANISE YOUR HOME
When we have messy homes, there is a great chance that our brains are messy as well. Organising your things and home can be hard at first, but an organised home actually aids relaxation and inner peace. When our home is organised and our physical space is tidied up, we have more room to lay out our thoughts and think without being distracted and overwhelmed by the mess around us.
We hope these suggestions inspire you to practice more self care. Your soul will be grateful!
